Going to Myeongdong on HeyDay for nose injections! My real experiences and cost details after getting Filler injected.

Do you feel the same too? When you look at your nose in the mirror, you always think that it would be perfect if the bridge were just a little higher and the tip a little more upturned. But you’re too afraid to undergo rhinoplasty, fearing that the recovery period will be too long or that the results might not look natural?

Actually, it’s not just you; several of my friends also have this idea. Going to South Korea for a trip and taking the opportunity to undergo some cosmetic procedures is by no means something new anymore. But when it comes to the nose – such an important feature of our facial features – choosing which clinic to go to and what procedure to have really becomes a source of great confusion.

After doing some research, I finally settled on the Myeongdong HeyDay Dermatology. It is a Dermatology clinic known for its friendly service towards foreigners, high-quality facilities, and transparent pricing. Below is a detailed record of my experience there for nasal filler treatment, hoping it will be helpful to those who are still hesitating.

In a nutshell: I had Filler injections for my nose at the HeyDay Myeongdong branch, and the results were so natural that my friends said, “You can’t tell it was done at all, but you definitely look better.” It cost around ₩350,000, and the whole procedure took about 1.5 hours from reservation to completion. There was almost no recovery period after the surgery.

Why choose HeyDay for nose surgery? Here are my three reasons.

To be honest, there are so many Dermatology clinics in Myeongdong that it’s impossible to count them all; one can find one almost every few steps. However, the nose is a particularly sensitive area – any damage to it is immediately noticeable, so I set much stricter standards when choosing a clinic for nose treatments than when considering other procedures.

  • First and foremost, the aesthetic assessment by doctors must be conducted online. A nose isn’t just about injecting as much filler as possible; it needs to be designed in proportion to your facial structure. The medical team at HeyDay has extensive experience in shaping facial contours. During my consultations, I noticed that they would carefully analyze factors such as the height of the nose bridge, the angle of the nose tip, and the overall harmony of the features, rather than simply recommending a certain amount of centum core to be injected.
  • Secondly, the environment and service must be reliable. To be honest, some Dermatology clinics may offer low prices, but their environments are more like factory assembly lines. The HeyDay Myeongdong branch is located on the 7th floor of Building N, and its overall decor features a sophisticated and minimalist style. The waiting area is very comfortable, and they even provide free luggage storage – which is a huge plus for tourists like us who bring our suitcases along.
  • Thirdly, the prices are transparent, with no hidden fees. When it comes to medical aesthetics treatments in South Korea, the biggest concerns are “price increases after arrival” or “brand substitution.” HeyDay adopts a system where the unit price of each treatment is clearly listed. The prices I found on BeautsGO were exactly the same as those quoted on-site. For a complete list of HeyDay’s prices, you can refer to my previous compilation: “Complete Record of Myeongdong HeyDay Prices.”

Consultation process: What did the doctor recommend that I do?

Upon arriving at the clinic, the receptionist asked me to fill out a Chinese questionnaire (yes, they do offer a Chinese version!). The form included basic information, a history of allergies, the treatments I wanted to undergo, and whether I had previously undergone any cosmetic procedures. After completing the form, a Chinese-speaking consultant took me to the consultation room.

It’s worth mentioning here specifically that the consultation services provided by HeyDay are nothing like those quick-and-dirty processes that “take just five minutes to complete”. The consultant first asked me to look at myself in the mirror and identify what I wasn’t satisfied about about my nose, then used an iPad to take frontal and side photos before analyzing them on the screen by drawing lines.

After examining my condition, the doctor gave me the following advice:

  • Nasal bridge: Use Juvederm Filler with large molecular weight; inject approximately 1 centum core to create a natural height from the midpoint between the eyebrows to the nasal bridge. Juvederm provides good support and is less likely to shift, making it ideal for areas like the nasal bridge that require an IPCHEA effect.
  • Nose tip: The doctor said that my nose tip is in good condition and does not require any special adjustments. However, if I want it to be more pointed, a small amount of Filler can be used to tweak the angle of the nose tip.
  • It’s not recommended to inject too much at one time, as the skin around the nose is quite tight, and excessive injections can make the results look artificial or even compress the blood vessels. This straightforward approach from the doctor actually put me at ease.

Final decision: 1 cc of Juvederm for the nasal bridge and 0.3 cc for fine-tuning the tip of the nose, totaling 1.3 cc.

How is the injection process? Does it hurt? How long does it take?

Many people find the idea of getting a nose injection quite frightening. Let me tell you right away: it’s actually much less painful than you might think.

The process is roughly as follows:

  1. Applying anesthetic (about 20 minutes): Apply the anesthetic ointment to the nose and wait for it to take effect. During this time, you can use your phone freely, as all the places offer free WiFi.
  2. Disinfection: The doctor carefully cleans the nose and surrounding areas using alcohol swabs.
  3. Starting the injection (about 10–15 minutes): The doctor first injects the substance at specific points along the root of the nose, using very fine needles. Since Juvederm contains an anesthetic component (lidocaine), the pain experienced after the first injection is significantly reduced. My experience was as follows: There was a slight tingling sensation at the bridge of my nose, but it wasn’t painful enough to make me frown; the sensation at the tip of my nose was more noticeable, but it only lasted for a brief moment.
  4. Doctor-assisted shaping: After the injection, the doctor will gently press the area with their fingers to ensure that the Filler is evenly distributed and the lines appear natural. This step is crucial, as the doctor’s technique and aesthetic judgment are fully reflected in this process.
  5. Ice compress: Finally, apply an ice compress for 5 minutes to reduce swelling.

The entire process, from entering the clinic to leaving, took approximately 1.5 hours, of which the actual injection took less than 15 minutes.

How much did it cost? HeyDay makes the price of Filler for nose treatments public.

This is the part that everyone is most concerned about, so I’ll list it out directly:

Project Brand/Dosage Cost (₩)
Filler injection for the nasal bridge Juvederm Voluma 1 centum core ₩300,000
Fine-tuning of the nose tip Juvederm 0.3 centum core ₩50,000
In total ₩350,000

This amounts to approximately NT$8,000 in Taiwanese dollars (the exchange rate varies depending on the day). The product used is genuine Juvederm, and considering the average price levels in the Myeongdong area, this price is considered on the higher side. However, taking into account the quality of the environment and the expertise of the doctors at HeyDay, I think the cost-performance ratio is very high.

Postoperative recovery: How many days will it take before I can be seen by others? Will there be any swelling?

This is probably the question that worries everyone considering nose injections the most. Below is the actual timeline of my recovery:

time Status
On that day After the treatment, there was slight redness, but it subsided significantly after applying ice. My nose felt a bit swollen, but it didn’t prevent me from going out. I got the treatment in the afternoon and still went shopping in Myeongdong and ate fried chicken in the evening as usual.
Days 1-2 The swelling has completely subsided, and the bridge of my nose feels slightly firm to the touch (this is normal, as the Filler hasn’t fully integrated yet). When I wear no makeup, it’s impossible to tell that anything has been done, but when I look in the mirror, I can clearly see that the shape of my nose has become more IPCHEA.
Days 3 to 7 The Filler gradually integrates with the surrounding tissues, resulting in a increasingly natural feel. During the period when the effect is at its most stable, the nasal bridge appears very distinct when viewed from the side.
One month later It looks completely natural; my friends all say, “How come you’ve gotten so much better-looking lately?” but they can’t quite tell what’s changed. That’s exactly the effect I wanted 😂

⚠️ Mistakes I’ve Made: A Guide to Avoiding Problems When Getting Nasal Injections

⚠️ Problem 1: Brand confusion – Not all types of Filler are suitable for nose injections.

Some clinics use medium-molecule or low-molecule Filler for nose injections. Although these options are cheaper, they lack sufficient support, causing the injected area to spread and deform easily. For the nose, high-molecule Filler such as Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lyft is essential to ensure adequate support.

→ How to avoid it: When making an appointment, simply ask “Which brand of Filler will be used for the nose?” If it’s not a high-molecular-weight Filler, choose another brand.

⚠️ Pit 2: Excessive filling – more isn’t always better when it comes to aesthetics.

When I first consulted another clinic, the doctor recommended that I receive 2-3 centum core of filler, saying, “It will look better only if you get enough injected.” However, in reality, the skin on the nose of Asians is relatively thin, and injecting too much filler can result in what is commonly known as the “Avatar nose” – a nose with overly wide roots that looks unnatural and may even compress blood vessels.

→ How to avoid it: A good doctor will provide advice based on the specific conditions of your nose, rather than recommending a certain dose. Generally speaking, 1-1.5 centum cores of filler is sufficient for the first injection; if it’s not enough, more can be added later. However, injecting too much can cause complications due to dissolution.

👍 The pros and cons in one sentence

✅ Advantages ⚠️ Disadvantages
👍 Doctors provide professional evaluations without promoting or exaggerating any results. They offer personalized recommendations based on each individual’s specific circumstances. 👎 The prices are slightly higher than the average in Myeongdong (but the quality is commensurate).
👍 The environment is top-notch, with Chinese-speaking services available; foreigners find the locals extremely friendly. 👎 Thursday is a public holiday, so it’s best to schedule activities on another day.
👍 Use genuine Juvederm products – the prices are transparent, with no hidden costs. 👎 For popular appointment times, it is recommended to book at least 1 week in advance.
👍 Just a 1-minute walk from Exit 6 of the Subway Line B branch entrance station – extremely convenient! 👎 There are no independent nasal contouring procedures that primarily use Filler.

Who is this product suitable for? And who is it not suitable for?

dimension ✅ Suitable ❌ Not suitable
Requirements For those who want to make minor adjustments to their nose without undergoing surgery I would like to undergo a complete Rhinoplasty procedure, which involves bone removal and the insertion of implants.
Budget Over ¥2.5 million Budget of less than ₩100,000
Language Basic English skills or the ability to use mobile translation apps are sufficient. I absolutely refuse to deal with any situation where communication is impossible.
Itinerary You can go shopping right after the treatment, with no recovery time or stress involved. I hope to go on Thursday (it’s a public holiday).

How should people in different situations make their choices?

  • If your budget is limited (₩100,000 to 1,500,000), you can choose to treat only the nose and use basic-brand Filler, and the results will still be noticeable. However, it is recommended that you first consult BeautsGO to confirm the prices.
  • If this is your first time in the medical aesthetics industry, it is recommended that you first read the “Myeongdong Newcomer’s Guide” to understand the entire process before making a decision. The nose is an excellent starting point for such treatments – the results are immediate, and the recovery time is short.
  • If you care about the duration of the effects: Juvederm usually lasts for 12 to 18 months, and you can get a top-up injection when it wears off. If you want more lasting results in one go, you might also consider nose contouring using Filler (although currently, HeyDay primarily uses Filler for this purpose).

My conclusion is: If it were me, I would make the same choice.

To be honest, it’s been over a month since the procedure, and I’m still very satisfied whenever I look in the mirror. It’s not that kind of dramatic change where people say, “Wow, you’ve had your nose done!” Instead, it’s more like a subtle improvement where people notice, “You look much healthier lately; have you lost some weight?” The transformation is almost imperceptible, but overall, my appearance has become more refined.

If you ask me…

  • If you want to improve the appearance of your nose without undergoing surgery, then HeyDay’s Filler treatment is definitely worth considering – especially since the doctors’ aesthetic judgments are based on actual visual assessments.
  • With a limited budget, you can simply inject 1 centum core into the root area of the nose – the result will still be noticeable, and it only costs 9.3 million won.
  • If you would like to undergo these treatments together with other procedures – such as HeyDay, Thermage, HIFU, or Rejuran – you can consult about multiple treatments at once.

No matter which one you choose, it’s recommended that you check the availability on BeautsGO before making your reservation. The appointment slots for the director at HeyDay are particularly in high demand, especially on weekends. The first time I tried to book a Saturday appointment, I was told I would have to wait until two weeks later 😅

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is it painful to inject Filler into the nose?

A: After applying the anesthetic, the pain is significantly reduced. Since Juvederm itself contains anesthetic ingredients, most people experience a sensation of soreness and swelling rather than stinging pain. The discomfort at the tip of the nose is slightly more noticeable, but it only lasts for a brief moment. Overall, the pain level would be rated at 3/10.

Q: How long after the treatment can I start wearing makeup?

A: It is recommended not to wear makeup for 24 hours after the procedure to allow the puncture sites to fully heal. The next day, you can resume wearing makeup as usual, but make sure to remove it gently and avoid pressing on your nose.

Q: How long can the effects last?

A: The effect of Juvederm Voluma usually lasts for 12 to 18 months. However, this duration varies from person to person; those with a faster metabolism may need a refill after 10 months, while those with a slower metabolism can enjoy the results for nearly two years.

Q: How far in advance should one make a reservation for the HeyDay store in Myeongdong?

A: On weekdays, it is recommended to book 3-5 days in advance; on weekends, it is advisable to book at least 1 week in advance. If you are scheduling a consultation with a specific doctor, it is recommended to book at least 2 weeks in advance. For detailed instructions on how to book at HeyDay, please refer to this article: Myeongdong HeyDay Booking Guide.

Q: What should I do if I’m not satisfied after the treatment? Can it be dissolved?

A: Yes. Filler can be dissolved using “Hyaluronidase”; once injected, it begins to break down within a few minutes and returns to its original state within 1-2 days. However, using a dissolving enzyme also carries certain risks, so it is recommended not to inject too much at the first attempt. If you are not satisfied with the results, you can inject more later on, in order to avoid having to resort to this method.

Q: Compared with surgical rhinoplasty, what are the advantages and disadvantages of using Filler for rhinoplasty?

A: The advantages of using Filler for nose augmentation are that there is no recovery period, the results look natural, and the filler can be dissolved if not satisfactory; the disadvantages are that its effect lasts only for 1 to 1.5 years and it cannot significantly change the shape of the nose. The advantages of surgical nose augmentation are that the results are permanent and the nose shape can be greatly modified; the disadvantages are a longer recovery period, potential surgical risks, and high costs (₩3 million to 8 million).
